How Utilizing One of the Best Pre Workout Supplement Products Can Boost Your Results!
What’s Your Pick for Best Pre Workout Supplement?
Ok, fellow bodybuilders, let’s talk about the best pre workout supplement. We certainly have our opinion about what the best supplement is and we wanted to share that with you. For this study, we are going to talk about Creatine, Nitric Oxide and Deer Antler. Read about each of our picks and decide what your goals are and whether these can help you achieve those goals. No two people are alike and one supplement that works for one may not work for someone else.
Is Creatine the Best Bet?
Out of our three favorite types of supplements, Creatine is probably the most common. Some even consider it the best pre workout supplement. It’s been around for quite a while.
Definitely one of the top three on our list of best pre workout supplements, Creatine has been a favorite of college and professional athletes for years, not to mention avid bodybuilders.
Creatine, is a naturally occurring nitrogenous amino acid found in the human body, meat, and fish. It assists in supplying energy to the body’s cells – and primarily to muscle. It is produced naturally from amino acids in the body (liver, kidneys, and pancreas) and is transported via the bloodstream to the muscles. Of all the body’s creatine, 95% of it is located within skeletal muscle. When you eat meat and fish, larger amounts of creatine are produced but for those looking to bulk up quickly, this still may not be enough to make a difference in your bodybuilding. That’s where Creatine supplements come into the picture.
During short-duration, high-intensity workouts, such as sprinting, or lifting weights, phosphocreatine converts into Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), which is a major energy source in the human body. Within your skeltal muscles, creatine helps to maximize muscle energy during muscle contraction. More ATP means more energy for physical activities such as bodybuilding, sprinting, rowing, etc. Taking a Creatine supplement encourages ATP production. What more ATP means to you:
- Increasing energy for muscle contraction
- Sustaining power during high intensity workouts
- Longer and stronger workouts
- Improved muscle – both size and power
Creatine is popular among competitive athletes and body builders. Estimates show that Americans spend about $14 Million/year on creatine products – mostly in the hopes that it will increase lean muscle mass along with enhancing athletic performance.
Our favorite Creatine Product is Muscle Advance. They run occasional specials where you can pick up a free bottle by paying the shipping charge.

While creatine is generally viewed as being safe, in high doses it can cause serious side effects. These side effects include kidney damage and the body shutting down its own creatine production. We highly recommend following the recommended dosages on any Creatine product.
Nitric Oxide Supplements
This is my personal pick for the best pre workout supplement but it’s not for everybody. Most everyone who uses it will tell you that they really like the increased strength, and stamina plus the way their muscles feel after a workout. Is it all in their head? Not at all.
Nitric Oxide was discovered over 200 years ago but it wasn’t until the 1980’s that it was classified as anything but a toxic gas. Now it’s known to provide many benefits within the body and it probably best known as the main ingredient in Viagra.
Nitric Oxide occurs naturally in the body and is responsible for regulating blood flow (among other things). Nitric Oxide increases the diameter of blood vessels, so blood flow is increased to the various organs of the body, including muscle. Because of this increase in blood flow the results are strength, endurance, muscle velocity, and ultimately muscle growth. Nitric Oxide supplements help with greater strength, endurance, recovery, and faster muscle mass gain.
Even though this is definitely a performance enhancing supplement, it is not considered an illegal substance. Nitric Oxide is a naturally occurring substance in the body and plays a vital part in many of the body’s functions. That’s the main reason most of us feel so comfortable with it.
It’s important to avoid certain brands (and there are a lot of them) because their formulas are not very good or potent.
We highly recommend Xtreme NO as the best pre workout supplement. We have a whole write-up dedicated to XtremeNO and why we love it. Read about it here: Xtreme NO
WARNING: Do not be fooled by cheap imitation Nitric Oxide Supplements that supply you with one quick burst of Nitric Oxide. They will not work as well – you’ll get one big burst and it’s over. You need to have a perpetual release formula like Xtreme NO. This is the main reason it’s our top choice for best pre workout supplement.
Who shouldn’t take Nitric Oxide? Anyone with low blood pressure should be warned about taking nitric oxide supplements. You’d probably be better off taking Creatine.
Deer Antler Velvet
Also rounding out the top three on the “best pre workout supplement list”, this supplement is not quite as well known in the public sector. Athletes know it very well. In fact, its use has been banned by the MLB recently because IGF-1 (insulin Growth Factor) is found in the velvet of young deer. It’s believed that IGF-1 mediates the level of HGH (human growth hormone) within the body. Though everyone thinks that HGH is the most important hormone for human growth, it only starts the process – IGF-1 does all the heavy lifting. Baseball players have been using it as a legal alternative to steroids for its performance enhancing properties.
I’ll be very honest here and tell you that I’ve tried it and it didn’t do anything special. Now I know that there are a lot of different brands, but I’m not going to be spending any more money trying out the various brands. I’m going to be spending my money on the best upplements that I know work – primarily Creatine and Nitric Oxide supplements.
Also, it’s important to point out that you should always consult your physician before taking any supplements.
Conclusion
No matter which of these products you choose, you’ll probably have success if you actually do your part and go to the gym. None of them will work without effort on your part.
Never expect your supplements to produce miracles. You’ll always be disappointed. Instead, view them as a tool to help you to reach your goals faster – as something to give you more stamina, more endurance and more fuel for your muscles. When you find the best pre workout supplement for you, stick with it and give it a chance to work.
